About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding time in between the work of grad school to keep traveling and learning.

ABOUT ME

After taking a long time off to travel and write, I'm in graduate school now working on a PhD in geography. I study urbanization and population mobility in China. My work focuses on drivers of social and economic inequality. Before I went back to school I spent 2 years backpacking, mostly in the middle east and southern asia, and worked in a coffee shop for 2 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm mostly here to meet new people, and see how people who live in the places I'm traveling use the places in which they live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been the source of some of my best traveling memories and the basis for many good friendships. I've surfed in Europe, the middle east and Asia. I haven't had a place where I could host for a while, but I'm looking forward to doing more hosting soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken a lot of great trips - I backpacked for two years after college, drove across the US 3 times and rode my bike down the east coast of the US when I moved from New England to the south.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook and love learning about cooking, making a meal with someone is a great way to remember a person or an evening, and I'm happy to share my (albeit limited) knowledge.

I also love sharing drinks, talking about books, and going for walks. Once upon a time I was a pretty decent chess player and am always up for a game.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to talk! I'm not just looking for a bed. If I'm messaging you it's because I took the time to read your profile and sincerely think we'll get along!
