About Me

I am 54 years old and have now the chance to travel in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

I am relatively new to this community, thus haven't got many references yet, but my experiences so far have been great. I can assure you that I am a good guest, quiet, easy going... and definitely interested in the experiences you are willing to share.

I have traveled a lot, mostly in Europe, also a little in the United States and in Mexico as well as Japan and it is so great to discover new places, their history and to learn about what is currently going on there.

I love to read, go to museums, hike, and talke about interesting things. I have a weakness for design and architecture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to get to know interesting people at the places I am going to. I have experienced a lot of hospitality in so many different countries and my home in Vienna has always been open to many guests from all over the world.
It makes such a difference to get the chance to get closer to how people experience their own cities and environments.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of the novels I recently enjoyed was "To Paradise" by Hanya Yanagihara. Very interesting: "Preparing for War" by Bradly Onishi, learning a lot about White Christian Nationalism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going from Phoenix to Flagstaff for the first time, from desert to snow
Public transportation in the United States! Always a challenge, but I manage…
Gay pride in Jerusalem
Working in Sarajevo

Teach, Learn, Share

I am trying to learn as much as possible about the places and their history, social conditions and politics while I am there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Exchange of ideas and views, experiences from Europe, maybe a nice glass of wine together. What you can absolutely count on, is that I am respectful towards everyone and everything, super reliable and that I will of course leave a place as nice as I had found it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United States
