About Me

***since I'm currently traveling, I'm not hosting guests. As soon as I'm settled again, I look forward to hosting you, fellow traveler :) ***

I have always enjoyed my experiences with travelers, and am grateful for such hospitality exchange communities which inspire even more phenomenal experiences! Whether I can serve as a host or guest in a home or elsewhere! Thanks to my first Couchsurfing Camp (Hamburg Invasion =D ), I've been hooked ever since!

I grew up in a small town in Texas. After graduating with my Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and Economics, I lived in the Northeast USA. Then moved to Germany to fulfill my promise of living here for at least a year. Almost 4 years later, I'm still here!
It's been challenging at times. My experiences have helped teach me to embrace and love the challenge.

My long-term compass includes...
targeting a job at an international world-class acoustics firm (e.g. Nagata Acoustics, the lead acoustician for the Elbphilharmonie),
pivoting into software development career (e.g. acoustical modeling, i.e. digital nomad),
studying for a Masters in Acoustics and/or Cognitive Sciences
(because it combines so many interesting subjects! Especially AI. The MEi:CogSci Program at Uni Vienna with partners and a focus on international collaboration interests me a lot),
and possibly a PhD in Auditory Neuroscience (probably applied for AI and Psychoacoustic purposes).
Oh, and a sailing trip around the world!
(Blue Horizon is my current favorite of the Youtubing-Sailors.)
Ich muss neben, dem Wasser leben.
(I love to live on the water.)

I am eternally grateful for the experiences I've had thanks to other travelers and am very happy that Hospitality Exchange communities exist. I look forward to experiencing the world with you and our fellow travelers!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite artist of all art forms:
Jimi Hendrix

Favorite actress & female celebrity:
Audrey Hepburn

Music:
Jimi Hendrix, Jazz, EDM, Orchestral/Chamber/Instrumental, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more

Movies:
American Gangster, Before Sunrise, Dazed and Confused, Roman Holiday, Studio Ghibli (all of them! 😬)

TV:
Rick and Morty wins it for me right now - I've watched it through 4+ times and still ain't sick of it.
South Park, Mad Men, Breaking Bad
And now I'm rewatching Friends - the first time I watched it was when there were still new episodes, so the only thing I remember about the show is kid-me dancing around the living room to the opening song.

Books:
The Giver, The Sun Also Rises, You Can't Go Home Again
Harry Potter helped me learn German faster than any other book.. a phenomenal story which spans languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met distant family in Germany who welcomed me into their home with open arms the first time we met. That evening, they brought me to their friend's birthday, full of heart-warming welcome, food, and of course, beer! Schnapps, too. It is the highlight of my travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

Please see below re what I can share with hosts. This would be a close copy of that section.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love of cooking - especially for hosts, guests, and friends!

My life experiences and wisdom passed on to me by mentors who have a profound impact on me. Among other things: being grateful. I would be truly grateful for you to host me!

Open and sincere conversation.

Native English speaker
(I wouldn't have thought to put this, but it seems a lot of people I've met while traveling, especially hosts, tell me they like this so they can practice their English with me - and I'm happy to help!)
