About Me

I am curious, enthusiastic and always looking to learn new things.

I keep myself busy with strange projects like bicycle produced electricity, shipping container hydroponic farming and educating people at biofuel powered carnivals.

My background is in environmental science and world travel. Currently I am on a journey outside of Canada, continuing to learn and grow as I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since my first solo trip over a decade ago I knew I was sold on the concept of couchsurfing. This website connects the planet like no other resource can!

I am grateful for the top-level experiences I have had hosting and being hosted by people from all around the world. The intercultural exchange and the unmatched openness of strangers gives me a cheerful outlook for this planet!

Interests

I am passionate about the natural world and am always willing to crawl around on my belly looking for another good bug to photograph.

I am always looking to learn something new; whether it be a skill or some form of knowledge. And if all else fails, you can likely find me juggling!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Orchestral gypsy polka (Check out Emir Kusturika!)

MOVIES: Sure, I'll watch it!

BOOKS: I've been riding the audiobook wave these days but tend to gravitate towards the scientific non-fiction department.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking 800 km across northern Spain following the Camino de Santiago. It was one of the most epic enough that I returned to walk a different 500 km section!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching, learning and sharing are probably the things I am most passionate about! I am on a constant quest to learn more and am happy to share all the things I've learned.

If you've got science questions or want to discuss philosophy all night long, I am game for that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I promise to teach you how to juggle!

(...Or at least give it a really good attempt!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Gibraltar, India, Italy, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
