About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am on a new path in life after hitting a slew of rough patches. Now I am finding how to live each day in ways that excite, scare, and inspire me.

ABOUT ME

During a staff training, three strangers were to give me a word they thought summed up my personality after about five minutes of small talk and introductions, my coworkers came up with "friendly", "friendly", and "calm." Based on that experience alone, I'd say I'm a pretty outgoing and agreeable person.

PHILOSOPHY

"I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will drop dead frozen from a bough without ever feeling sorry for itself." - DH Lawrence

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed only twice and I want to surf some more during my travels in my home country and out. In the future when I am stable enough, I would love to host couchsurfers of my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed at a fellow couchsurfer's place in Oklahoma on my 2,000 mile road trip from California to Arkansas, and once overnight in Boston before a new job opportunity. My hosts were wonderful and I believe in travel karma and hope to spread the good around in my own way.

Interests

I really love experiencing different cultures and lifestyles. I like to do a lot of stuff outside, especially in the water, like swimming and surfing. I love getting to know people. I'm quite naturally a friendly person.

I love yoga, though I've fallen out of practice recently and I need to get back into it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recently I worked as an au pair in Australia and it was very fulfilling to influence the lives of three young children in a positive way. I will never forget them as I'm sure they won't me.

Watching the sunset in Nicaragua was pretty amazing and quite relaxing. I could watch sunsets all the time.

I also witnessed my first rope burning contest at the camp I worked at this past summer, it was pretty awesome.

Going on a river rafting trip and ending up at hot springs, and sitting in said hot springs and watching the stars illuminate the sky is pretty awesome.
