About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere (credit to Mr C Sagan!)

ABOUT ME

My passions are the power of the arts and the wonder of science. But that may make me sound too serious - all I really want is a good laugh and a smile.

I have lived in London for most of my and - while I enjoy the bracing experience of the countryside - I love seeing the world's cities. This is where people really come together.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live, promote culture to everyone, wonder at the beauty of the universe, go beyond the guidebook (but don't ignore it). Never lose a sense of perspective

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think often there is too much of a divide between a place's residents and its visitors. If people have come to see our town, we should welcome them.

And if we visit somewhere, let's step off the tourist track for at least a little while and meet the locals.
and set aside a couch of my own for the world to sit on.

I have begun hosting people and found this as much a rewarding experience as being hosted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After surfing with a few great people in Paris, I am excited and enthralled. It was a completely different way of seeing a city.

I went to India in 2012 and stayed with some great hosts as well. Staying with locals brings a trip to life and I had some great times with the people I met.
