ABOUT ME

I like to think of my self as laid back... though I guess you would have to be the judge of that. I like wandering, seeing new things, learning, and just taking things as they come. I try to find beauty in the simple things.

I've lived in Alexandria for about a year now. I moved here from the state of Washington to get my Graduate Architecture degree from Virginia Tech. They have an awesome program in Old Town that is a lot of work but also a lot of fun.

I love traveling! I've been all over the place, but you know how it is, the more you travel the more you want to travel..

Music has always been a big part of my life. Growing up we did it together as a family. Right now I play Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Electric Guitar, Djimbe, Other hand percussion, Singing, Trombone, and some Piano. I have played with all sorts of people and all sorts of styles over the years. It's one of my very favorite things to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh, Couchsurfing has been fantastic!! Far and above the best way to travel and see new places!

I spent a whole summer traveling all over Europe working as a street musician and selling paintings on the street. My experiences chouchsurfing were some of my favorite times on the trip. I met fantastic people that were so generous and welcoming, I'm not sure I would have made it had it not been for all the great times couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Well, as a musician I like music that I think would be fun to play... so that means just about everything. Probably my favorite stuff right now is a mix between Acoustic Rock, Jazz, Funk, Trip Hop, Progressive Bluegrass, Folk, and Blues. Although if my mood is right I also can be a big fan of Hard Rock, or Electronic music.

Books: ooh I like all sorts of books. Science fiction, Classics, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Theology, Philosophy

Movies: I generally like Action or Drama, oh, and I guess the nerd in me likes some good Science Fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hrrmmm Well I played in a band while in Poland a few years back, With German who spoke English and German, a Slovak who spoke Slovak and English and two Polish guys who only spoke Polish, one of which was the band leader... Surprisingly it went really well.
