About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to find a way to live a happy, creative life, free of the grind.
ABOUT ME
I'm at something of a turning point in my life. In the near future, i need to decide if i want to persue theatre professionally (grad school, move to New york, etc.) or do something else. as of right now, i'm leaning toward the something else. I'm friendly and open-minded, i love a good debate, and am not afraid to speak my mind, and am REALLY difficult to offend.
PHILOSOPHY
I generally try to act from an informed perspective, to avoid making bad choices out of ignorance. so, i've realized in my wanderings that much of what is taught in the US about the rest of the world is pretty much crap. I want to construct a working understanding of the way the world works, and i can't do that by staying in one place. hence, my adventuring.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Metric (or any form of Emily-stars, soft skeleton, etc) Regina Spektor, the mountain goats, they might be giants, pink floyd, led zepplin, the who, bowie. and most recently i have developed a fondness for french and bosnian hip-hop.
Movies: Way of the gun, City of god, The fountain, Goodnight and good luck, The cradle will rock, Hackers, Human Traffic. i used to work at a movie store. i'm a bit picky, but i appreciate most films for what they are.
Books: Heinlien (starshiptroopers and the notebooks in specific) various eastern martial texts (go rin no sho, and the tesshu) Angry white pajamas, Love my rifle more than you. i just finished Jeremy Scahill's Blackwater and Jonny Rico's Blood Makes the grass grow green, and i'm currently working on a collection of essays about creationism and Alex Gray's The mission of Art.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
when i was in nepal, a few years back, i was trekking in the hills. so, there i am trucking along this trail, i'm about 19 at the time, in pretty good shape, i have a nice backpack, probably carrying 50 lbs of stuff, pretty expensive hiking boots, and i'm walking at a good pace, fast enough to get my heart rate up, and get me breathing heavily. As i'm going up this hill, i'm passed by this little old nepali lady. She's gotta be at least 65-70, and she's carry a huge bag of rice on her head. she scampers past me in her flip-flops, and as she smokes up this hill ahead of me, i realize that not only is she not panting like i am, she is singing. humbling, to say the least
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a bit about bikes, i know a bit about philosophy. i can sew a straight seam, and i draw fairly well. i know a lot about theatre, and i've taught electrics and some design before. i'm interested in learning how to cook healthy, portable and inexpensive food.
