About Me

Greetings! Isaac here.

Originally from Singapore, I've been living in New Zealand for quite a few years.

New to christchurch! Just moved here for a job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me, couchsurfing is a medium for me to meet and experience new places with others.

Its quite fun meeting new people and trying different things. While the generic tourist sites are nice to go too, nothing beats exploring the little things a place offers that only locals, or those that dare look, will find.

It is anything BUT a place for cheap accommodation.

I appreciate well thought out requests that suggest things and experiences we can learn from each other.

Interests

Motorbikes and Mountain Bikes - My main squeeze. I love to ride my motorbike through the countryside and see new places around my home.

Tramping. I also climb and am always keen to do outdoor rock climbing and exploring new outdoor activities.

Have done Ceroc dancing for over 4 years however am an now infrequent dancer though I'm always keen to bring people along!

Music, Movies, and Books

Matthew Reilly, Dave Brown and many more. I enjoy mostly action or mystery books. Slowly working my way through the wheel of time saga at the moment. It's a beast.

I have very diverse music taste.
I enjoy listening to other countries local music especially sharing with other couch surfers but I'm a huge Foo Fighters fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungy jumped at Victoria falls on the zambia/Zimbabwe border....I'm scared of heights but it was definitely my biggest thrill. Backpacked in South Africa with a friend and from Elephants walking infront of the bus in Botswana to Pony Trekking in Lesotho in barren landscape completely isolated from modern civilisation. Bribed my way through customs in Mozambique. Zoomed around Calvi, Corsica and the surrounding country side on a rented scooter. Got my backpack stolen in France, lost myself in the backstreets of Barcelona. Streaked in a blizzard storm on the highest point of europe, Jungfrauoch, Switzerland.

And all the little moments you experience travelling through a different country.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can heat up your frozen hashbrowns in the toaster....quick and easy.

I'm fascinated by the medical world. So anything medical.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully an interesting conversation. I like to learn about the people I meet and the backgrounds they come from.

I surf to meet others from around the world. I'm very proactive and enthusiastic and I am always up for an adventure

I make it a point to write thought out requests and do my best to appreciate that I am a guest in your home. I'm also good at cleaning up after myself and am mindful of maintaining as small a footprint in your home.
