Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to become location independent.
ABOUT ME
I am intensely curious about life and enjoy adventures in many forms, including the outdoors, reading, good conversations, and silence.
I work for a travel startup called Project Travel (peer-funding for educational travel. I run The Traveling Advisor on the side (www.thetravelingadvisor.com).
PHILOSOPHY
Adventure is for life...not just your twenties.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy making connections and potentially meeting up for a coffee. I am usually not able to host due to house constraints or the fact that I am constantly traveling. I am looking to increase my participation in CouchSurfing MeetUps. Eventually, when I decide to stay for a while, I would love to be able to host Couch Surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted people at my house and been a Couch Surfer as well as met up with people for dinner. In my line of work, I am asked fairly frequently about Couch Surfing and advise people how to become involved in the community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham, novels by Graham Greene, Zadie Smith, and John Steinbeck; poetry (at the moment Pablo Neruda, Seamus Heaney, Rumi, and Czeslaw Milosz); also nerdy books about social theory, philosophy, history, and religion
Music: I can't stop listening to alt-J at the minute. Of Monsters and Men, Ray La Montagne, Regina Spektor, Iron and Wine, Nickelcreek, The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Weepies, bluegrass, Irish, salsa, etc...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the sunrise from the top of Mount Sinai in Egypt. Having a crowd of Turkish children teach me how to count to ten in Turkish. Seeing where my coffee and chocolate comes from in the mountains of Colombia. Rock climbing the 'Gunks in New Paltz, NY.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am fairly well versed in international opportunities and scholarships (including study abroad, intern, volunteer, au pair, teaching English, and the Rotary scholarships, Benjamin Gilman, etc.). I would like to learn more about social entrepreneurship.
