About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We are two 'outdoorsy' people who love adventures and new experiences

ABOUT US

We are Dutch Aussie duo living in Manly on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. We work hard in our teaching and designer professions so we can travel and enjoy the world around us.

PHILOSOPHY

…Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile…

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling helps us gain new perspectives on the world around us. It is not just about the destinations that we seek but our ability to achieve new eyes. One way to do this is through couch surfing, which has given us so many new experiences and chance meetings with some incredible human beings. When we are not on the travel road we love to share new and interesting experiences by hosting our own couchsurfers who are able to bring the travel world to us!

Interests

We are people that have way to many interests...We are always been keen to try new things...We are lovers of the 'natural' in life and we are very active and l...Most of my time is spent at the beach surfing, surf life saving, swimming and fishing. i also play a lot of soccer (football) and love to clear my mind by going on a long run. Trekking and mountain climbing is a real love for me while during those winter months I find myself skiing at the far ends of the earth...

i love to dance (want to improve my salsa), i take lots of photos, if there's a kitchen i ll be in it cooking, i love animals and would happily spend the next 10 years travelling and exploring diverse cultures from all around the world...

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that sounds good...and things that make you think

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Here's a few so far...but there are many still to come!

Sitting watching the sun rise out the water with a pod of dolphins while surfing at my home beach in Avalon - pretty hard to beat!

5 Weeks volunteering in a rural Costa Rican village (St Helena) building a library and police station (all in one!) making chairs and tables for the school, repairing a doctors clinic and teaching english - I learnt about the realness and purity you can find in not only yourself but the people around you!

Watching the Midnight sun 'not' set and then rise again in Å, a small fishing village in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. I felt as though i was at the end of the world! Then following that up with a chilly Arctic Circle morning swim in aqua blue water!

Walking across the length of Spain to the old end of the Earth to watch an unforgettable sunset. The small charming places, the beautiful people and the spectacular scenary will stay imprinted in my memories.

Walking through the Darien Gap from Panama to Colombia and experiencing a virgin jungle that is still so perfect.

Climbing the summit of Volcàn Cotopaxi (5897m) and experiencing the feeling of being above the sky and having it in my lungs. A sunrise above the world can never be described without seeing it yourself!

Exploring the special world of the Galapagos Islands and experiencing living amongst its remarkable and evolutionary nature and animals. To beable to swim with sea lions, sharks, penguins, turtles and thousands of fish is something that will be very hard to find anywhere else.

By far the best thing i have done or i am doing is to be alive on this wonderful earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

If in doubt...do it! I would much rather spend my last years on this planet regretting some things i did, than regretting all the ones i didn't.
