About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be there for my family and LIVE, LAUGH and LOVE

ABOUT ME

I have reflected on how short our time is to experience life. I resolved to spend my life taking in the sights of the world. Thus began my traveling experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like hosting, when I am not traveling. I travel a lot within Arizona so can provide local information.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Initially, I stayed in hotels or with families that we had arranged visits with. As expenses kept going up I was determined to continue traveling. Over the last few years I have stayed at hostels and this has been an interesting experience. We have hosted many visitors over the years, so CS seemed to be a natural step to take. I also appreciate visiting with locals who are excellent sources of good information.

Interests

I have many interests apart from traveling. I cook, play tennis and racquetball, I play the organ, read a lot of history, cultural geography and anthropology books. I keep a garden most of the year. I do a lot of photo, video and music editing on my computer. I do some writing and continue to try learning Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love instrumentals, classical, Hawaiian, movie themes and ABBA. I play them on my organ.
I'm an action adventure movie guy. Saving Private Ryan, Indiana Jones and almost every James Bond movie.
Read lots of history and travel books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my working years, I had a brief career working with refugees from former Yugoslavia. (Serbs, Bosnians and Croatians) These people, who arrived in USA with nothing, within 1 or 2 years, were able to buy homes and make meaningful contributions in their communities, hold onto good jobs, and learn English.
