We have been traveling together since the fall of 2010 and have been blessed with the boldness to further engage our wanderlust. We strive to live intentional, joyful, fearless lives. Personal mottos have included: the worst is over, existence is pure joy, there is that which remains and let love in.

A Scorpio with Capricorn tendencies, Octavia is an artist, writer, activist and introvert with a love of the world, donkeys, alternative education (unschooling in particular), figs and repurposed art supplies. Inspirational visual artists in her life have included Frida Kahlo and Dr Seuss. Musical favorites include Cloud Cult, Joan Baez, David Bowie, Nanci Griffith, Ani Difranco, First Aid Kit, Cat Power and Tracy Chapman. Octavia, or Tavi, has at least half a dozen names to her name and has spent time in Venezuela, Mexico, Canada and the US (primarily WI, WA, OR).

Casper is a genial, spiritual book-lover and intellectual. A Gemini-Taurus cusp, he has a passion for old books, hermeticism, Roman history and vinyl records. He is trained in library science and his theoretical bookshelf includes the best of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sam Shepherd and Milan Kundera. Do not underestimate his love of really old manuscripts in PDF form. He has long enjoyed the musical stylings of Rasputina, Joy Division, the Velvet Underground, Amanda Palmer and David Bowie. Born in Canada, he spent most of the past few decades in Eugene, Oregon.

We're artists, lovers, livers, learners, writers, creators and constantly becoming more fully ourselves.

We are: friendly, liberal, open minded, excited about life, self aware, animal friendly, optimistic, flexible.

We are not: messy, loud, easily irritated, cigarette smokers, dirty.

We have surfed a dozen or so times and are excited to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've both leant our floors/couches to folks in the past, though not through Couch Surfing.

We tend to be very independent guests. We're not looking for tour guides, just someone to have tea with now and then and a place to get out of the rain.

Casper loves to cook and we like to share food. We're clean, friendly, self contained and unobtrusive folk who would feel very grateful to spend a night or two or more on your couch/floor/bed/porch/lawn/etc. We have a tent and know how to use it.

Met on Craigslist, went on one three-day date, survived a hospitalization and an out-of-state move - then exactly a month after that first date, moved to Cincinnati together, sleeping in fields and abandoned houses along the way.
