ABOUT ME
Hi, this is Thibault!
I've been working in the video games industry for more than 10 years now.
The first thing I can say is that I am pretty talkative. I love to talk, but not meaninglessly - I do enjoy sharing stories with people and learn from them; every conversation can be an enlightening/entertaining experience.
I enjoy partying and socializing very much: Concerts, nightclubs, festivals, home parties, school parties, company parties, you name it.
I also value time on my own a great deal, or just quiet yet precious times with friends around a beer or a cup of coffee (or whiskey - the smokier, the better - and a good Cuban cigar, "totalmente hecho a mano").
(/^-^)/c[_][_]b\(^-^\)
I greatly appreciate restaurants and their social purpose, exhibits, shows, most social and miscellaneous events, like liquor tasting sessions or, well, a conference about art with drones (I actually attended such a thing, and that was silly af)
Each time I visit a new place, I like to know what's nice to do and see around - as opposed to "what not to do and avoid".
To end this "all about you" section, I guess I just wanna say, one day, I'll get myself a damn fine nag, and ride East, meet folks along the way, build up a crew of horsemen and women, reach Mongolian steppes and gallop 'til we found the meaning of life.
PHILOSOPHY
Seize the day, baby, seize the day!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed on the West Coast several times, in Japan as well, helping hosts when I could, otherwise, when I'm at home, I like to meet up with travelers and show them around my beloved city, Paris! I hosted people, only when I had the time and energy to spare, so they could have a decent CS experience. I also happened to help people with French as part of language exchange sessions - still eager to do so if someone needs to practice.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first couchsurfed in LA and around in 2013, and that was amazing.
Then, I met CSers in Paris, where I live, and I went on a West Coast trip in 2014 using couchsurfing as well (I was even hosted on a sailboat!) I also used CS in Japan to meet up with great people to visit Tokyo and later the rest of Japan, from Okinawa to Sapporo.
Locally, in Paris, I hosted a few people and took others to stroll around and cause mischief in the city; so far, a great experience!

Music, Movies, and Books
It would be too long to make a complete list, so I'll sum it up.
Movies: I'm a true cinema enthusiast, and I've seen hundreds of movies. I have a preference for crime movies (especially urban thrillers and film noir) and sci-fi movies. I think my favorite movie is Heat, the final scene always give me goosebumps.
Music: I listen to every kind of music I can, and I regularly buy CDs (yeah, CDs!). My favorite genre is grunge; Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Les Thugs, you name it!
Books: Mainly science-fiction; I love Stephen King books, my favorite is The Stand.
Video games: I love it. I've been playing since I'm 2. (Who are the Patriots? - らりるれろ)
TV Shows: The SHIELD, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Dexter, Cold Case, Twin Peaks, Freaks and Geeks... and a lot more actually.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know for what I've done, but in 2012, I've been offered a ticket to see Jimmy Kimmel live while I was travelling in L.A. The show was great, and right after, I watched the rerun, and, at some point, I'm on screen, and I was: "Duuuuuuuuuuuude, I'm on American TV :o".
Prince Concert!
Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time was great, sitting on a bench of Seattle's Queen Anne district and having a deep conversation - waxing philosophical while enjoying the best view on Seattle's skyline - seeing the sunset on Griffith Park... Walking with my partners in crime through Tokyo at 3 am, deprived of sleep and looking for stuff to do. I don't know, many moments seemed great to me!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach you some French, or game-design if you feel like it :) Video games History, club culture in Europe, how they make industrial hot dogs... THINGS! And I can cook you a KILLER risotto.
Learn: In a nutshell, the more I learn, the more I'm happy! Anything!
