About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming a translator, and learning a new language.

ABOUT ME
UPDATE : Now back in France to finish my Master's degree in translation.

I'm currently working as a project manager for a language services provider, which is much more exciting than it seems. I took a break from uni, where I was studying languages and translation. I spent 5 months in Spain last year, which turned out to be the most exciting experience I've lived for now. Since I'd returned to France, I had been wanting to travel more and more... And now here I am, in Melbourne for a year!

I am an easy going gal, open-minded, and curious about anything ! Fond of literature, languages of course, theater, music, and, last but not least, nature.
I've got two sisters, we are the same age but very different from one another.

PHILOSOPHY

"Happiness is only real when shared."

"La vraie vie est ailleurs" Rimbaud.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people and travelling !

Interests

Theater, cinema, literature, walking. Learning languages, because you can never get enough.
Cooking Chinese noodles, authentic crepes (don't forget the beer in the batter!!), Indian curries, and everything inbetween!

Music, Movies, and Books

The movies I like most are the ones by Almodovar, Inarritu, and Xavier Dolan. I've watched the Rock Horror about 10 times, and could easily watch it another 20 if I was with the right people.
If you haven't seen them yet, go see Biutiful, Fight Club, Big Fish, Amélie Poulain, Pierrot le Fou, Pina... What are you waiting for??!!

I fall for Keat's poetry as well as for Luis Cernuda's. Spanish language has this very singular thing that makes me feel home whenever I listen to it. Its rhythm, its tune, you'd think the sun is shining through it! No wonder the Spanish are such fantastic people.
I can't wait to read Proust 's masterpiece, and as soon as I can afford it, I'll buy a bilingual spanish poetry anthology in the finest edition i can find.
I've recently discovered Oliver Sacks, thanks to a friend who sent me one of his book (all the way from France to Australia! I love the idea that this book has travelled so much). I'd usually be more keen on reading fiction, but non-fiction sometimes is just perfect when you're in the right mood ... :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam in the North sea !
I drove 300km in Queensland ! (That's an achievement, considering I had never drove on the left side of a road before.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll cook you crepes for breakfast!
