Hello everybody, my name is Thierry and I come from France. I studied biology and worked for almost 10 years in (agro)ecology (mainly as a botanist and also as an entomologist) mostly in research centers.

I'm a lone traveler who likes nature and biodiversity, astronomy, backpacking, bushcrafting, cooking, photography, helping, exploring new places, ...

In general I mostly like quiet, remote and not touristic places and am not a big party animal, preferring to drink a beer or something else with my friends at the end of the day to share some good times and speak about everything. ;) But if I feel comfortable and with the help of nice music I also know how to enjoy partying until the end of the night. :D

I'm also vegetarian even if I can very exceptionally eat some meat and fish depending on the context. But no worries I'm not an extremist and respect every choice about this. :)

I hope to meet you soon to share our experiences and learn about each other thanks to common interests or not. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basic : to meet people living in different countries and learn about other cultures and way of life. Also to share and learn about different topics we have in common (or not !).

Interests

Everything related to nature (plants, birds, insects, weather, soil science, ...), photography, hiking, cooking, meeting people from all around the world and share experiences. I also like to learn new languages, always trying to learn basic sentences in the countries where I'm travelling ... and depending on my motivation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big fan of movies. I like almost every kind of music. I don't read a lot of books but I read a lot about photography skills, biology, ecology and permaculture. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't really know if it's an amazing thing but I traveled alone during 7 months in southeast Asia, away from touristic places to discover local cultures and be a volunteer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to improve my english. Even if it's written fluent on my profile, it's far to be the case. But my English is far to be bad. So I didn't know what to choose between fluent and learning. :D
I'm really curious by nature and like to learn about everything. :)
Then I can share a lot of things related to my interests and about French language and culture.
