About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make a dent in the lives of students across around the world. We're all students.

ABOUT ME

Laid back, intellectually curious which might be mistaken for 'excitable', usually social and outgoing but I have my introspective moments. Oh, yea, I always smile at strangers. Thankfully for me, I'm not a girl and didn't risk having men following me around in Paris...though, I must say, things tend towards the serious in the winter and smiles on the street were a rare commodity, even from me.

PHILOSOPHY

Live knowing the end might be around the corner, but learn and dream as though you'll live for ever. A rendition of many popular quotes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS. I've been a member for a while, but I haven't been able to really partake till now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not a whole lot, but I've met and hanged out with many and I liked them all.

Interests

- I'm a techie who's realized that I would have really really, like really, loved and enjoyed seating in history and english classes while I slaved for my BS in Electrical Engineering. There were the mandatory humanities through which I explored philosophy, and I managed to study in Paris for my last winter where I, of course took art class and got a daily dose of the arts and culture no matter what I did.
- Given the first, I love reading. I combine my technical readings, which I personally consider 'liberal arts' since they lean more towards the purer of the sciences like functional programming which is really logic and mathematics...dare I say, philosophy? I also try to still read and explore philosophy. I have plans to read great literary classics :-)
- I saved the real obsession for last and that is education. Given my technical background, my interest are more aptly captured by the following words: learning, design, and technology. Changing the way we learn, ergo, the way the teach. Lots of things happening in this area. I constantly think on it, I dream about it, and evaluate and come up with ideas in the shower.

Music, Movies, and Books

Philosophy, Life, Love, Functional Programming (very much the student, not master but it represents for me beauty and art).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I get a chance, I return to rethink on this one, but off the top of my head, here are some moments I'd share:
- Walking the streets of Paris at Night
- Zen meditation at a Zen template in Kyoto, Japan and hanging out with a cool American monk who'd relocated in the 60s.
- The trip from Zambia with my family to the United States, longest trip of my life, and one whose significance went over my 13 year old head.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll share what I've learned about life and love, the development of human thought and functional programming, friendships and relationships, and I will listen to those of others.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Japan, Spain, United States
