About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore, experience and enjoy life and this beautiful planet we live on.

ABOUT ME

Human living on planet Earth, originally from the area called the Netherlands, spending a lot of his twenties in the US. Former New Yorker, currently an Amsterdammer.

PHILOSOPHY

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a lot of people, I've surfed many couches, and will never forget what CS did for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted many people in my house around 2008 and 2009. From then on, the hosting has come and gone, and the surfing started more. I really cannot describe how grateful I am to all these wonderful and awesome people. I've been on CS for about six years now.

Interests

Interested in everything, passionate about how miraculous it is to be alive. Like to watch the sunset over a skyline, hang out on my boat in Amsterdam, hang around campfires on a mountain, or experience new things with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Sagan, Attenborough, Cox, Dawkins, Bryson and Tyson. If you know 'em, you'll probably love 'em.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of being alive is pretty cool already, no need for me to underscore it, right? The more you travel, the more amazing things you see.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach, learn, share my ass! Damn hippies on CS! Come visit me, and tell me if there's anything you've learned! ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope I'm one of those guests you'll remember. That I will not fade into a vague person that you once met, but that we actually enriched each others lives. Sorry if that sounds corny, but otherwise I should have booked a hotel - right?

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Suriname, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
