About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to wander, make art, eat good food, feel the earth under my fingernails
ABOUT ME
just came back from the maritimes, worked on a friend's farm in cape breton, one farm leading to another, and made our way to newfoundland hitching - a beautiful land of generous people. back in big bad toronto, bittersweet, but home nonetheless, with some new recipes, new friends, new stories of time spent at music festivals, with the sea, with the earth, and with unfamiliar sounds and smells.
--
i was born in hong kong, raised in thornhill, ontario, and i arrived in hamilton five years ago as an undergraduate student.
in hamilton, i encountered inspiring people, experienced inspired moments, and began collecting stories of the everyday life. i spent the last two years interviewing educators, artists, activists, students, and steel mill workers, researching and compiling and drawing this shared constellation into what would become a graphic novel.
i spent most of 2009-2010 on a cycling trip around europe, the rest drawing and writing away at the graphic novel in paris, in a little chambre de bonne on the fifth and a half floor.
so the book is done, self-published, and hopefully not collecting too much dust on the bookstore shelves.
and now, i am studying to become an architect in toronto. into the third year, confused as ever. the city keeps me busy even if it can get ya down.
PHILOSOPHY
freedom to move, freedom to return, freedom to stay. no one is illegal.

Teach, Learn, Share
your life is your life
don't let it be clubbed into dank
submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the
darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them, take them.
you can't beat death but
you can beat death
in life,
sometimes.
and the more often you
learn to do it,
the more light there will
be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have
it.
you are marvelous
the god wait to delight
in
you.
