About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn something new everyday and continue growing in all pursuits already begun

ABOUT ME

I guess I'm sort of a weird guy. Ha. I love trying new things, hardly ever sleep, spend a great deal of time outdoors, equally enjoy hours of intense conversation over coffee or hours of playing darts at the local pub, but not mixing the two...at least not normally. Philosophical thought is my foundation for everything, I suppose, but arguing about the nuances of what Nietzsche meant in a particular aphorism from his late notebooks can be a bit of a drag when out drinking. ;)

PHILOSOPHY

The intrigue and mystery of life, that certain something at its heart, is the point of a good story. You are the main character in your own story...a story you are intrinsically interested in...whether tragedy or adventure, what a grand story it is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is in my nature to play host rather easily. However, I am currently not in a position that allows me to host. So, for now, I can show someone around the area and grab a drink, but have no couch to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to own my own house. While I did, friends from out of town, people I originally met in Europe, bands passing through, and rail-riders commonly spent a few nights with me. I love meeting new people and it is so rare things don't go well if all parties involved are considerate and use a bit of common sense.

Interests

Chess, hacky sack, rock climbing, sky diving, history, hiking, cooperative projects, martial arts, films, any music other than the twangy country variety, and slack-lining.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen was at about 5:30am at a small port in Western Greece. I had taken the ferry over from Bari, Italy headed to Patras, Greece. We only stopped at this port (don't remember the name) for ten to twenty minutes so they could transfer shipments, but the sun was just rising, causing both the marble mountains and the crystal clear blue-green Adriatic Sea to sparkle. As it would figure, my camera was dead at that moment, but the image is forever burned into my mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently highly interested in strengthening my foreign language skills. As for teaching, if you're interested in Philosophy or Chess, I can most likely help you out there. ;)
