Overview
About Me
I grew up in the woods and mountains of New York (center of the state), moved to San Diego after visiting it and falling in love with the people and place, got sidetracked in Kansas City for longer than I expected to, and found myself back in San Diego. I've lived here one block away from the beach for about seven years this time around, and am loving life with my pup in my 2 bedroom apartment. My spare room used to be my office, but a friend from Kansas City moved in. She had to move back a few weeks ago to take care of her mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer
I was recently travelling in Asia and Europe for about the last 7-8 months and have been back home here in San Diego for a couple of months. Not working yet so I'm spending my time catching up with friends, cleaning this big apartment, and getting my affairs in order before my next couple of big trips.
I love to travel and meet new people and try to go on one big trip every year along with several smaller local trips. I also have a vehicle that I rarely use, because I usually work from home, currently unemployed, and everything is walk or bikeable from my apartment. So I am open to showing guests what San Diego has to offer time permitting.
Volleyball and pool are my passions and luckily there are a ton of courts on the beach up the street with friendly people playing, and plenty of bars within blocks that have pool tables.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have an unoccupied bedroom at the moment and I love meeting new people and hearing their stories/learning about where they're from.
Interests
Shooting pool, playing indoor/outdoor soccer and beach volleyball, going to concerts and music festivals. Trying new things and restaurants, and meeting people.
Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of old and new music. Everything from classic rock to funk, hip hop, edm, harder rock, and punk rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time I drove a motorized scooter was in Bali, where they drive on the opposite side of the road. I drove it on a 1.5 hour long trip, and on the drive home I drove it in the rain, at night, with no headlights.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in learning about perspectives from locals of the rest of the world, especially those affected by recent current events.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My couch (sleeps two) or a queen inflatable mattress in a private room or both. The lowdown on places to see, drink, and eat. Good company!
