About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working to be whole, dancing through paradoxes and trying to be the best possible me.

ABOUT ME

Traveling is a big part of my life; I get it in where I can. I've spent a good amount of time living out of a backpack, spending time in India, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina, along with a good portion of the United States. I've also backpacked Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand. Just finished up a summer working in Costa Rica and will be traveling through Europe this fall. I'm an introverted-extrovert... At times I can be very social, but I also require alone time to recharge, reflect and realign.

PHILOSOPHY

"The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so free that your very existence is an act of rebellion." Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done some couch surfing through my travels, mostly while backpacking the US. While I have wanted to provide travelers with a safe haven and some one-of-a-kind Drake hospitality, roommate situations over the years have prevented me from doing so (I'm trying to change that).

Interests

I love the outdoors, hiking, extended backpacking, reading, meditating, yoga, dancing, herpetology, attempting to play guitar, tarot, urban sustainability (chickens, goats, aquaponics, gardening, permaculture), scuba diving, writing and finding ways to be better aligned with a life that tends fully to what Satish Kumar refers to as "Soul, Soil and Society." I'm an intuitive/energy healer and facilitate personal and group ceremonies. I'm also an experiential educator and have worked with youth and adults in various outdoor adventures (zip line guide, raft guide, backpacking guide, challenge course facilitator) and service-learning coordination.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, anything that sparks revolution in the heart and mind. I guess that goes for movies and books too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked with my friend Katie from Peru, through Bolivia and into Argentina with very little ability to speak Spanish. We may have landed ourselves into some weird situations, but we lived!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love permaculture and sustainability (social, environmental, economic). Currently working through my Masters in Leadership for Sustainability Education.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Guided meditations, soul journeying, rappe sessions, energy work, a meal (I'm a great chef!), gardening, dog walks and general help with animals, language exchange (I currently know a little Spanish... hoping to start learning some French or Italian this fall... starting with some bits of German here and there at the moment).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Costa Rica, Peru, United States
