About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To connect.

ABOUT ME

Brief synopsis: I went to Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh, PA) to get my degree in physics and acted under the assumption that I would continue forward to get my doctorate and become a professor. Now that I'm in grad school, I'm rethinking everything. I want to connect more. I want to be around people more. I want to do more and see more. So, I traveled around the country trying to see whatever could be seen in the time available to me. There is a lot more detail to this story, but I think it'd be best told face-to-face over a cup of coffee or tea.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey. I know how that seems remarkably cliche, but I've found that there's a lot of truth to it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I finished a two month US whirlwind trip in September-November of 2010. I met a ton of people from CS on the way, surfed most of the time - it's a phenomenal experience. I'm traveling in Europe during July of 2011 and I hope to run into some couchsurfers there, too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed all over now. I love this site. Truly, I do. Everyone I've stayed with has been an absolute joy. The experiences I've had are remarkable and utterly unforgettable. I'm so glad that I stayed with the people I did, where I did, when I did. I can't imagine it any other way now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Whatever you have, I'm always up for a listen.

Movies: Again, a wide variety. My favorite is Requiem for a Dream, but I'm also rather fond of There Will Be Blood, Children of Men, Brick, The Red Violin, and others.

Books: I'm trying to read more fiction as I've been lacking in that area for some time. But, 100 Years of Solitude and Everything is Illuminated are amongst my favorite books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to separate just one moment from my trip around the US/Canada, so I'll just leave the whole thing as one unified experience. I hope that I have the chance to do something like that again.
