COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I come from a surf-friendly family, many of my "aunts" and "uncles" are some of the CSers my parents hosted and became best friends with. I am new to this site, but have plenty of experience road tripping and crashing with friends of friends of friends in the USA, though little formal surfing experience. All of the surfers I've met and hosted through this website, however have been amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent two weeks in the Amazon jungle last year, volunteering with an indigenous group in Ecuador (the Shuar), and spent all my time doing hard physical labor, trying to help build a spiritual retreat center for the tribe on higher ground (the recent damming of the rivers is flooding much of their land). While there, after a hard day of dragging lumber through muddy mountains, I climbed halfway up an active volcano and watched a storm roll in. Had a whole conversation with the wind.
