About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To always put forth my best for myself and for others.

ABOUT ME

I'm an appallingly bad dancer. For a long time I thought that I was just joking about it, but I recently came to realize that it isn't a joke and I'm not sure it was ever believable as one. I love hiking. I love making coffee and playing outside and climbing things. Today I was hugged hard by a really great golden retriever and I was so delighted that I laughed and cried. I make art—mosyly with ink on fabric or on an Etch A Sketch. I'm goofy as hell. I curse kind of a lot, but it's not because I'm angry. I love to hear other people's stories and if you tell me the same one three times, I probably won't tell you. I'm a vegetarian, but don't mind whether or not you are. I don't have any pets or children, but I'm so into it if you do. Or if you don't.

PHILOSOPHY

Since we seem to be existing, I see it as sort of our responsibility to experience and know what that "means," very personally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a couch surfer I do nice things for people like assorted chores, I cook, and give back rubs. As a host, I basically do the same thing, but with more local pro tips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I like making breakfast a lot, so I get along great with people who like eating it as much as I do. How close can we get to knowing one another in just a night or two? I've seen so many wonderful places and met so many wonderful people and because of the predisposition toward connecting intimately with strangers, I find that I hunger for it like home. It's a sincere pleasure that doesn't present itself as often as I'd like.

Interests

Making / seeing art, linguistics & languages, playing outside, hiking, riding my bike, dancing while doing everything else that I do, water, traveling, laughing, loving stuff, the synchronicity of life and death, ... and juice.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh goodness! I love Herman Hesse novels. The first 60 to 70 pages are usually slow, but he always delivers because I think that the initial effort put in by the reader makes a pretty solid emotional investment. I read a lot of his work. I would go into it more, but I tend to get long-winded with this stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Between 2012 and 2013, I spent nearly 9 months driving across the USA, from NYC all the way into British Colombia, and back with someone I married at the end of it. We aren't married anymore. Let me tell you something--this world is really somethin' else.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language! I'd like to get to a "Bawler" level with my Spanish skills and can teach anyone what I already know, which is a grand amount. I can also teach you things about cars and how to fix/maintain them! There are tons of skills and lots of knowledge I'd like to get down with, so I stay open to whatever someone has to teach me. I'm also never too tired to lend a hand in the garden or in most places. And I can teach you how to make some pretty mean vegetarian food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My coffee, my ears, and my past experiences, limited wisdom and all.
