Overview
About Me
I travelled as much as I could in my twenties - spent a year Down Under (working holiday) and another one in Japan (student exchange). Now I am somewhat settling down, but I still want to meet new people so I don't lose sight of the wonderful world that is out there!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have traveled alone a lot. In my 20s I usually stayed in hostels. At one point in 2009 I was stranded in Hokkaido, running out of cash, no access to my bank account, and sick with the flu, when an incredibly nice, generous and open-minded French family took me in. They happened to be traveling in the same area as I and invited me on their trips, which enriched my travelling experience in an invaluable way. I will never forget their generosity, and I promised them that I would pass on to others what I had received from them. That is why I am here!
Interests
Singing, traveling, horse back riding, dancing, and my newest hobby: playing the celtic harp :-)
Apart from that, I am a lover of Japanese culture, which is why I studied Japanese and am now working at a Japanese company where I can use and improve my language skills every day.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a wide range of music, depending a little on my mood, but it is mostly acoustic music with singalong potential.
When it comes to TV I like shows of the fantasy genre, and drama. I'm also a fan of musicals, cross-dressing comedies and dystopian science fiction movies. I do enjoy a good thriller, but I hate horror movies!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydive AND bungy jump in New Zealand! The parachute flight made me sick, but I would go bungy jumping again anytime :)
