About Me
I am from Myanmar but I have been living in Singapore for 11 years. I am in edu business so my schedule is unpredictable. Sometimes I am free but sometimes I am so busy. While I am travelling, it is really great when locals show me around, and meet with other travellers. On the other hand, I also need me alone time. It has to be balanced. Being Burmese, it is not easy for me to travel because of my nationality. It is really troublesome to prepare documentation for visa things and there are always a lot of questions being asked to me at immigration. Even some airlines really double check if I have a valid stay in Singapore. At Oslo airport, even if I proved the airline staff that I have a valid pass in Singapore, she didn’t dare to issue a boarding pass to me. She still asked her supervisor whether or not to issue the boarding pass . It is really frustrating but I like travelling so I have to bear with it since I can’t change my nationality :) I need more effort and patience for it. I want to have experience of living in Europe for a year or so while learning one of the European languages. Maybe, one day when I am free from everything, I will be able to do it.
For those who request to stay, there are no such things as “rules” at my place but I just want to request you to be clean :)
The followings are what you need to know.
1) I can host you 1 to 2nights. So hope you understand me if I can’t host you for more than the set dates. I understand some travellers travel for a very Long period of time and need more stay in a place. But please don’t make me feel guilty if I can’t host you more than 2 nights. We are all adults and we need to take our own responsibilities. Don’t make me feel as if I am the one who is responsible if you can’t find another hosts. You have to plan in advance. In Singapore, I heard that not many people respond you here on CS. So please plan ahead. Based on my own experience, I hosted a girl and she extended her stay more and more saying that the other hosts don’t reply her. She didn’t leave my place without telling me how Long she planned to stay and If I was willing to host her for a Long time. It ended up badly but I didn’t write any review to her because I don’t want her having difficulty in finding hosts in future. We are here on Couchsurfing just to meet people from all over and make new friends. If I have to host you for a very Long period, I’d rather do air BnB and wouldn’t be here on Couchsurfing. We need effort to host you such as cleaning and washing things you used before and after. So please understand that and don’t treat this as “free bed” and the host doesn’t need to do anything.
Strictly no extendable.
2) The security Guards at my apartment are not so friendly. Just tell them you are my guests. I don’t want you to have any problems with them. Other than that, my place is considered to be located in central so you can easily access to almost all the attractions.
3) I might be able to accompany you in the evening when I am free. I go to work late and come back late haha. I can cook Burmese food at weekends and probably be able to show you around at weekend too but I won’t be able to accompany you all the time. As I say, I need to be myself and I am not extroverted. I get my energy by being alone from time to time.
4) I am not local Singaporean but I have been living here for about 11years. Thus, I can give you few tips about Singapore such as you are not allowed to chew gum in SG and you can’t drink or eat anything in the train :D other than that, I will never be like locals. They know Singapore better than me :)
5) if I show you around, please don’t expect I know all places very well because I still get lost. I am bad with directions and can’t remember the locations.
6) want to listen to your life stories if you don’t mind and learn the culture.
7) There is an altar table in the living room. I am not sure if you are fine with it. If you are comfortable with it, you are welcome. But please, I am not too religious so we can go out for drinking :)
8)I am a certified makeup artist so ladies, if you are kind enough, please let me test my skill :P
If you want to keep in touch, My Instagram is thoedarsann but I am NOT a blogger nor collecting followers ;)

I prefer reading books and listening to music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I Really don’t know which one. Maybe I haven’t really done it. I guess an amazing thing is something that you feel fulfilled from doing it such as helping others. I do it whenever I can but that is not to that extent to say “oh I did something amazing”. I really envy those who are devoted to themselves in helping needy people.
Or is it the achievement in our life?
If the followings are amazing things then I have done more than one :)
1) skydiving in Aus
2) firewalk in Singapore
3) Dipping into icy water after Sauna in Finland in Feb 2018 . To me, coming from a tropical region, I need lots of courage to jump into the cold water. My body got shocked after that and felt tinkling sensation. I can never forget this experience!
