Overview
About Me
Hello,
My name is Thomas, and I am a winemaker and sommelier. Food, wine, fermentation, & Jiu jitsu are my passions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started using couch surfing in 2015 as I was traveling through Italy between harvest jobs. Now I find myself in Spain attempting to immerse myself and learn a bit more Spanish. I have had wonderful experiences through the warm people I have met, and would love to continue meeting future friends in Spain as we share food, wine and travel stories.
Interests
Currently I am most interested in improving my Spanish through meeting wonderful people living in Spain
I am most interested in culture and what it's composed of; food, wine, delicacies, language, music, & traditions.
Traveling, the outdoors, fermentation, sustainability, reading, art, community, music, sports, adventure, & alternative life styles from the common man all strike my interest.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music; I studied music & audio production in Manhattan and have a deep love for an array of many different styles of music. Some in my rotation lately has consisted of a lot of Latin; flamenco, salsa, afro-cuban & latin-jazz..,R&B, motown, traditional jazz, free jazz, reggae, 60's & 70’s classics, positive hip-hop, rock'n roll, post-punk, indie, & EDM. I love listening to new styles, and feel like there is a time and place for almost any genera.
Books:
-On food & wine; Michael Pollen & Jancis Robinson are amazing. Tastebuds and Molucules, The 4-Hour Chef, The Art of Fermentiation, The Drunken Botnist, and the "Culinaria," cookbook series some of my favorites
-Travel/adventure; Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintaince, Reflections of a Wine Merchant, The Alchemist
