About Me

Hi !

I'm Thomas, just done with a Ph.D. in robotics applied to surgery, I've decided to take a break from the routine of city life and the office to travel the world for a while, mainly to do a bunch of hiking and mountaineering !
I'm french but grew up in Germany and have lived in various places around western Europe - most recently close to Paris, France. I've travelled Europe and South America extensively but still have a bunch of countries and hikes on my to-do list, mainly in Africa and Asia.
My main creative outlet nowadays is photography (mostly animal photography, check out some of my work on http://iamthewouf.wordpress.com) though I still occasionally play some music (I played the guitar pretty seriously for 15 years, along with some keyboards and drums).
Believe it or not, I enjoy travelling - but also more serious activities like partying, exploring the outdoors, chilling with crazy strangers and always learning stuff along the way !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet you guys !

I'm keen to go off the beaten path whenever possible during my travels, to meet locals who can share things about their home I would miss travelling by myself on the tourist circuit, and to share stories and worldviews with open-minded people the world around.

Whether it lets me expand my worldview, teaches me something unexpected or just gives me the chance to share fun times with a like-minded human, I'm pretty sure couchsurfing is a good way to go !
