About Me

I'm currently halfway through my second year teaching English in China, and am interested in travelling around some different places in East Asia, and experiencing different cultures through meeting new people. Also I'm a vegetarian so if there's anyone who can introduce me to vegetarian food in Japan I'd be very appreciative! (When I say vegetarian, I mean I also don't eat fish.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm visiting a friend in Japan at the moment and need somewhere to stay. Also I would be very curious to meet some local English speaking people, as I've learnt in China that this is the best way to discover the true nature of a country and it's culture. Also I can't speak any Japanese, so I'm feeling a bit intimidated!

Interests

I'm very passionate and opinionated about music! Possibly too much....
I love cats! If you have a cat or know any cats in your area please introduce me to them.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music changes far too regularly to be committed to the internet! However I'm currently into Jungle, Juce and the new Caribou album.

I'm not so knowledgeable about movies, so my favourites consist mostly of trashy fluff such as Mean Girls, Heathers and other girly things. More serious character driven pieces, fantasy (in the Ghibli rather than LOTR sense) and so-bad-it's-good schlock are also very welcome!

Very behind on books since my selection is fairly limited in China.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learnt to use a squat toilet. It amazes me every time I manage to do that!
