I spent a summer working on a turmeric farm on the big island of Hawaii (and while I was there hiked out over miles of lava fields in the dark to see lava flowing down the mountainside).

I've got a comfortable place to crash, with a subway stop 10 minutes walk away. I'm near Hollywood and the Griffith Observatory. I don't have a car and may not have a ton of time to hang out, but I'll take you to my favorite breakfast spot or the community garden.
