About Me
Name is Thomas and I have been living in Stavanger almost three years now. Met a lot of nice people here, beautiful country and a fun place.
I bet you will like Norway :-)
I'm a danish guy and since 2014 I have been getting more into Couchsurfing and hosting.
I would like to spend some time, showing you the city and/or my favorite (beer)-places :) or cooking a dinner, everything can seem a bit expensive here in Norway...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never been traveling as much as I would like to ("to travel, is to live" as a danish writer once said).
Moving to another country, has really shown me how fun/interesting it can be to meet new people, and that has brought me here to CS.
I have been hosting surfers here in Stavanger and hope I will meet many more around the world too.
When traveling my goal is to meet some interesting people, experience the culture and explore what each new place has to offer. City, history, architecture, nature, socializing and to try local foods/drinks.
Interests
Music explorer, everything new really, live gigs are great fun
Beer and brewing, started home-brewing with a few friends.
Geek stuff, like board games, anime, big books, games and all that...
Cooking, if i'm bored in a weekend I just cook a lot, bet I can learn to cook anything!
Science and such things, especially Physics or anything about Space and I'm good.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Passion is Heavy-metal :) a very long list, currently listening to Architects and Alcest.
I do like Classical and Electronic stuff too and recently got introduced to Math Rock and new Retro Wave!
Books: Expeditionary Force and Haruki Murakami's the wind-up bird right now. HP-Lovecraft, Sci-fi or fantasy are my favorites. Warhammer 40k books. "I am Bob" Bobiverse. The magicians.
Next up?
Film/series: Game of thrones (read the books) Preacher is great fun too and Mr. Robot is great, Stranger Things was good :)
Some favorites: House of Flying Daggers, Princess Mononoke, 5th Element, Wall-E, K-Pax, Gataca... It's a long list
Tips about really good films needed, they can be few and far between!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm alive :D
Hope this list will get longer...
Well I did cycle 91km in Norwegian terrain.
And recently tried surfing, that's good fun.
Spent 6 weeks in North Carolina and visited a CS friend in Charleston, that was pretty amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking, most likely :)
Homebrewed beer, if I have any
Tell me about some music you know and I'll tell you about some of mine
I see a lot of live concerts here, can bring you along for most of that, maybe even a hike if I have time.
Small kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer and all that stuff.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Will enjoy cooking a meal, either traditional or exotic, love to learn something new!
My company and wisdom :D
I hope I can join you on a tour around town, or maybe a CS event? If you are busy, advice for interesting things to see (or drink/eat) is greatly appreciated :)
If you know a beer place (or similar) can share a beer or maybe two.
