About Me

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since I'm currently traveling a lot for application interviews (and don't have an apartment of my own), I unfortunately cannot host anyone these days! I'll be open for visitors again as soon as this changes!

I would think (or rather hope ^^ ) that I'm not the "typical nerd", although I can get quite fascinated with science & technology if triggered. But to be fair, I am also interested in pretty much any other intellectual topic and open-minded discussions :) However, I'm afraid that I don't really care about the Kardashians xD

For advanced instruction, you might want to know that I'm Bavarian and can be quite ironic, direct and jokingly offensive. Rule of thumb is: the more I insult you, the more I appreciate you ^^ yeah, we Bavarians are weird people :D

Apart, I try to enjoy life wherever I can: sports, cycling, traveling, dinner or barbecues with friends as well as bar evenings, concerts or whatever interesting event there might be.

Finally, for whoever doubts that a scientist can be badass: I do own and ride my motorcycle, which is the true love of my life B-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am very passionate about living "the international life", meaning having friendships and experiences that overcome any borders, may they be physical, cultural or personal. I highly enjoy the new perspectives it offers towards life and the different cultural mindsets, including my own.
And especially now that some narrow-minded movements are rising, I strive to "be the change you want to see in the world". By being welcoming and open-minded and friendly.
So far, I was never disappointed by any foreigner and made some of the most honest and sincere friendships I could imagine.
*Having friends all over the world as "travel basis" is a plus as well xD

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spontaneously booking a weekend-trip to Bucharest in the Check-in line for my flight to St.Petersburg ^^

What I Can Share with Hosts

You may pick:
-Sophisticated talks about the impact of the potato onto the post-revolutionary russian society
-Probably more funny/embarassing stories and experiences than you can handle in one evening, possibly with great bavarian beer in my luggage ;)
-The outgoing craziness of a solid bavarian within the night-life, including a style of drinking which might qualify as alcoholism in some other regions xD

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Germany
