About Me
Hi! I'm Tom, 23, from Bristol in the UK. And I hate about me sections!
I like to think that I'm an optimistic and positive person, and I know I definitely enjoy meeting new people. I'm quite easy going and a trusting person, and a bit of a planner when it comes to travelling generally (I don't like putting people out.)
Now I've overused the adjectives; all I can say is that if you invite me to stay, I will respect your space. If I am inviting you, I will try my best to make your stay a good one. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The world is full of wonder; I've always been excited to explore, to experience new things. I have a wishlist of places to go a mile long and I'm nowhere near fulfilling it.
I'm on couch surfing to meet new people from different cultures and backgrounds, tell and hear stories about your travels. And to be inspired!
Also if you are staying round, to help others make the most of visiting Bristol. Its a fantastic city and I'm lucky to live nearby.
Interests
I'm one for quirky challenges. I'm completing my own monopoly board made out of pictures I took. I want to visit the sites of the ancient 7 wonders of the world (and to be honest, the new ones too!). I've been tobogganing in Oslo and seen flamenco in Barcelona.
I've been told I'm quite competitive before now, and I'd be up for a challenge, in terms of sport (I'll try anything once) or trying new foods. One of my favorite experiences was definitely when I went to a "round the world event", sampling national dishes, hearing cultural music & dance. Probably what encouraged me to come on here.
Relaxing at the pub with friends is pretty normal, but no worse for it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Indie music , pop, rock, disco (yep!) and tropical house. Basically anything with rhythm and a melody.
I'm not an avid film-goer or TV series watcher honestly. I don't have a television in my flat (be warned!). But at a push, Lord of the Rings & Harry Potter (books and films) , Dr Who etc.
I really need to read more too! Problem is I think studying has put me off most books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tobogganing in Korketrekkeren, Oslo. An experience I'd recommend to everyone, and great value for money (for Norway that is!). So long as you are happy to get a lot of snow in your face learning, racing others down the 2km circuit is great fun (and there's the metro at the bottom to get back to the top of the track). For a real speed challenge, get the lower and faster sleds.
Plus visiting Elafonissi beach in Western Crete is amazing and worth a visit.
Teach, Learn, Share
Share stories. That usually covers the teaching and learning anyway. If I am interested to find out more, I'll ask!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge of Bristol; whats worth visiting, what's nearby worth visiting (i.e. Cardiff or Bath), buses, train times etc.
If I have the time, I don't mind helping out planning the next stage of your adventure!
If you want to hear my stories, I'll happily oblige! :)
Countries I’ve Visited
Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain
