Hi there! my name is Thomas and was born and bred in north eastern Italy, countryside in Venice region. I have worked many years as barista, bartender and freelance photographer and have been travelling quiet constantly since 2011. I love outdoors and like to spend my time hiking, or at least I try to do it as often as I can! Even though I come from the countryside I really like city life as well. My target is to live with photography once I'll be done with backpacking! (Check out my web site www.thomaspossamai.info to see my works!).
When I travel I like to use platforms such as helpX, couchsurfing, workaway and similars as a way to meet as many people as possible and experience something more different and deeper than the "easy touristy stuff". I won't lie though... it's also a good way to save some money!
I recently decided to move back home (at least for now!) Because I was feeling like losing my roots. Now that I managed to get a place by myself I'm more than happy to host new friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get the chance to meet local people and have a different travel experience, getting in touch with the area's culture and see everything, especially the not -touristy spot! I will be available to host you back as soon as I am back home that is Italy (in the Venice mountains), 1 hour from Venice, plenty of hiking and sightseeing, plenty of outdoors and plenty of good bar time with me and my friends🍻🍷!.

Interests

I used to take a lot more pictures while traveling in the past years, but in the last years I sort of took a step back and focused on enjoying what surrounds me whitout thinking about proportions, rule of thirds and composition of an image. I like to solo hike and solo travel, but enjoy a lot good times with the right people! When not traveling I practice karate and kick boxing, which really help me to keep me relaxed.

In exchange for a couch I can help you with anything you might need a hand with. I can cook, good cleaner, I am a fairly handy person, can drive and have a lot of experience on both sides of the road. If you are into photography we could go out taking pictures together. Being a bar keeper I kind of like to check out the best bars in town to get some ideas that might be helpful in the future so if you want you can join! 1st and 2nd round on me👌.
