About Me
Hello!
I'm Thomas, or Tom. I don't mind.
My friends also call me "Petit Thomas", "Baby Tom", "Thomas L'Imbécile"... you don't have to use any of those nicknames, but I mention these here to give you an idea of my childish, silly nature.
But I can also be serious. And intelligent, ocassionally. And I consider myself pretty shy, so Couchsurfing is a great way for "forcing" me to meet new people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first discovered Couchsurfing through my ex-housemate Ben. Two or three times a month, I would come back home to find one or two weary travelers from all over the world in my living room, invited by Ben. I thought "Hey, this is pretty cool, maybe I should try that myself!".
Since then, I have hosted a little, traveled a little - all great experiences. This website seems to attract so many like-minded people, that's what I love about it.
Interests
My main passion (almost an obsession I would say!) is making films. I mostly focus on directing and cinematography but I enjoy every aspect of filmmaking: writing, editing, visual effects... I've been making short films ever since I got my first camera when I was 12 (sounds a bit cheesy, right?) and now 3 cameras and many (bad) short-films later I consider myself to be pretty good, I suppose.
During my time studying at UCL, I was heavily involved in the university's filmmaking society, in which I was President. It was tough work, but ultimately very rewarding! Having graduated last year, I haven't been making as many films as I want to, but I have been doing a lot of script-writing.
My other main passion is music. I studied guitar for about 5 years, but discovered piano later in life and fell in love. In my last house, I had a grand piano, so I would play piano almost every day - mostly pieces composed by myself. Recently, I've been composing music electronically, using Ableton.
I also enjoy surfing (like actual surfing), watching movies (when I have time!) and playing videogames (when I also have time!). I've done 12 years of Judo too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading, and have been a bit of book worm in the last few months, ranging from 20th century French literature (Sartre, Camus, Queneau, Vian) to Philosophy (Locke, Nietzsche, Russell) to sci-fi (Philip K. Dick, Asimov, Bradbury).
I don't watch as many movies as I want to, but my favourite films are Memento, Back to the Future, Amelie and Toy Story. If you don't know about it already, there's this great website called Letterboxd - you can see my profile and all the films I have seen here: https://letterboxd.com/trebour/ Go check it out!
Musically, my tastes are rather eclectic, and change quite a bit. I love French Electro, or the "French Touch" (Justice, Daft Punk, Degiheugi, Polo et Pan, L’Impératrice...), as well as Rock (Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers...) and classical music. And not forgetting Ratatat, which I particularly enjoy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I paraglided in the South of France over gorges, canyons and rivers, which was awesome.
For New Year's Eve 2015 and 2016, my housemate and I hosted Couchsurfing parties, which meant we celebrated the new year with around 30 strangers from around the world. It was a lot of fun!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy cooking and can prepare a good ratatouille, if you like!
