I'm studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and I've lived in Ann Arbor since the age of three, when my family moved from my birth country, Slovakia (I still speak some Slovak, although it gets worse as I use it less). I l love exploring new places and I've done a decent amount of traveling throughout Europe and a bit of the U.S., although much of it was with family when I was younger. I'm hoping to travel more alone, with friends, and to different places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to travel and meet new people! I like talking and learning about people's lives and ideas and I'm excited to learn about places from the people who live there. Once I have my own place to live I'll be very happy to host others and talk to more people!

Interests

I really like to do all kinds of things: juggle, bike, run, climb trees, hike, camp, backpack, swim, snowboard, skateboard, read, box, disc golf, and carve ice (badly). I really think I just like learning new things.
I like learning things in school too; I wish it was easier to study more different things during college. I'm interested in urban planning, architecture, ecology and microbiology (human microbiome?!).
I like just about all kinds of music, although I don't play any instruments and can't sing. I also like a lot of art, although so far I haven't made too much of it (I'm starting to work on it).
I like being outside very much.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been juggling for a few years now and I love both learning new things and teaching new people to juggle.
I also like to cook (even though I don't do too much of it) and would like to learn more recipes and ways of cooking. I can even teach a bit of Slovak (pirohy) cooking!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have been helping my dad do carpentry and remodeling since I was a little kid; I've learned things like framing, drywall, and tile installation. I even know how to TIG weld (although I can't carry around my own welder). If any small repairs are needed at your home I would be happy to help!
