Hello, I’m Thomas, a cheery 24 year old, born and bred in Scotland. I studied physics at university and since then I've endured a pandemic, worked as a bike mechanic and a deer stalking assistant. What really makes me feel alive is experiencing new things, whether that's exploring new places for all the surprises there; learning about new ideas; or meeting new people for their life lessons or just for a good laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whenever I've gone travelling in the past I've either camped or stayed in hostels, and I always feel like I've missed out on what I imagine is one of the best aspects of travelling: hanging out with locals! I want to find out what their lives are like, discover their favourite food, get told the local secrets, learn some of their language, hear about their adventures...

Volunteered and lived in a hostel in the middle of the rainforest in Costa Rica! You'll have to host me to find out more, but beware some of the stories may haunt you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think I'm good company. I can teach you some Scottish slang (well, if you can understand my accent that is). Also, as a bit of a nerd, I'm all for science and bike chat, so expect lots of that.
