About Me

I'm Thomas from Austria. Even though I’m lucky to call the beautiful mountains of my home country my home, something always pulls me back out into the world.

I am finished my master degree as a carpenter, I decided to take some time and spend half a year traveling through Europe/ Asia.

After many years of traveling, my perspective on being out in the world has changed. Being out there is already such a vast and complex gift that the world has given us. That I longing for the basics.
That could means being out in nature.
Playing a game of chess.
Cooking soupe for yourself, family and friends or just stick to less people, but this I know very well.

I consider myself a very lucky and peaceful person.
Fortunately, I’ve come to understand the true meaning of home—especially when I’m out traveling in the world. That understanding has always given me a sense of stability and a calm, quiet mind. 😊

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love reading and tend to devour almost anything I get my hands on – from novels to non-fiction. Books are a great way for me to discover new perspectives and get a inview about a whole Life in a Brunch of papers.

When it comes to movies, I’m a bit more selective. I especially enjoy films that feel authentic, tell real stories, or make you think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, the best travel experiences usually happen when you simply go with the flow and let things unfold.

For example, I once ended up in Thailand almost by chance and had the opportunity to help manage a resort for an entire season. It was an incredible experience that gave me many insights into that kind of work and, even more importantly, into meeting all kinds of different people.

At the same time, I also love simpler adventures: hitchhiking through India or cycling more than a thousand kilometers across Europe. For me, it’s exactly this mix of spontaneity, encounters, and small adventures that makes traveling so special.

Teach, Learn, Share

What do you think is your truths??
What do you guess is the Truths about your Culture??
What do you reckon about the value of Progress??
Do you believe in good or bad??

Learning, teaching, and sharing belong together for me.

I am mad about cooking. I’m always happy to share some of my own cooking ideas, but I’m just as excited to learn new recipes and techniques. In the kitchen I absorb new inspiration like a sponge.

And thanks to my background as a carpenter, I’m always happy to help if some practical skills, advice, or an extra pair of hands are needed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cooking skills, give insights into my Western culture and my travels, and I’m always happy to help around the house or garden with advice and practical support.
