Hello!
My name is Thomas and I have been trying to travel around the world for 2+ years now. I am planing on settling down for awhile here in Melbourne to save up before setting off again. My travels through Europe and Asia have been a whirlwind and the stories and experiences will last a lifetime. I’m very excited thinking about the prospects of my future travels but for now I’ll be in Melbourne for the next year or two.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing so I can find a place to stay while also meeting like minded people along my travels so I can make life long friends. I am excited to get out of my comfort zone in my hometown and meet people from all across the continent and I feel as though Couchsurfing can provide that opportunity. Who knows, maybe the people I meet through this site can stay with me if they ever find themselves in Vancouver in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music would be hip-hop and classic rock. I really like 90's music as well. My favorite bands are Oasis and Nirvana. I really enjoy cinema and its hard to come up with a list of my favorite movies as the list is pretty vast. My favorite movies of all time are Friday Night Lights and the John Wick trilogy. Its a weird combo and I know its not the ideal choice for most people but FNL is very relatable to how I grew up and John Wick is just an awesome character and movie. My favorite novel might be Catcher in the Rye. I read it as a teenager and at the time, Holden Caufield was somewhat relatable to me so it was a novel that I took a strong liking to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won a public Anthropology award for a op-ed contest that was required for my degree out of 100 participating schools. I left the op-ed to the last minute and forgot the due date. I woke up at 4 am suddenly and for some reason checked the due date and it was to be handed in at 9 am. It was a op-ed that required weeks of extensive research and I rushed it in 4-5 hours and somehow won one of 10 awards out of thousands of students.
