About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Can't travel for now, so if I can host the world in my actual living room, I will be happy ! I really like to meet new people, to discover new cultures and also to hear about different amazing experiences that travellers have experienced.

ABOUT ME

My name is Thomas, I'm currently 26 years old. I come from Montbert, a small rural town south of Nantes, in France. But I am currently living in Valence, around 100km south of Lyon. It is a nice and sunny spot in France, where heaps of outdoor activities can be made.

I studied in Lorient for three years, on the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) but also environment. I will work with companies to improve their work in relation with their health, safety and environment.

I was volunteering around the world the past year.
I have started by a 6 months volunteer project in Estonia, and more exactly on Hiiumaa island (which is a nice island by the way). Then I went for my next volunteer project took place in Peru for another 6 months !
If you want to have more informations about my volunteering projects I have done and about how the life were going on over there, please follow my blog : citoyendumonde.travelmap.fr

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to discover the entire world and to meet local people! This is the best way to experience the real way of life of a country.

I'm looking forward to meet many different people and new cultures by travelling! Couchsurfing is so wonderful!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Germany to use Couchsurfing for the first time in summer 2012. First time in Frankfort and then in Berlin. From this moment, I really want to do more Couchsurfing because it is a good way to meet new people, so to discover new countries and new cultures as well.

Then I went for a 5-month trip in Australia and New Zealand. Couchsurfing allowed me to meet some really nice people. They showed me and they told me a lot about Australia and their way of life. That was a lots of fun!

In September 2014, I travelled a bit through Europe, using Couchsurfing to meet local people, to know more about the place and the way the live. That's a good experience !

Interests

I love playing basketball and I am a basketball referee since a couple of years now.

Please check my blog for more information about my one-year volunteering I have done last year : citoyendumonde.travelmap.fr

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been at the TD Garden stadium (Boston,MA) to watch the NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat. Boston won and as I'm a C's supporter, it was marvellous!

I stayed 3 months from April 2013 to June 2013 in the middle of nowhere (in the Australian desert, more than 60 kilometres from the closest village) to work as an assistant volunteer Ranger in a natural reserve (conservation park). I saw a lots of Kangaroos, emus, birds... Amazing! I enjoyed it!

I travelled all around the South island of New Zealand. I saw a lots of pup seals swimming in a Stream, in the middle of a forest. That was amazing! I also went to the Hot Springs in New Zealand's Mountains. Landscapes are so beautiful there. That was a great trip and I will definitely come back, one day...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to share my previous experiences and why not my future projects.

I am sure we have so much to share between each traveller, such the culture of our own country or even our native language (because I love to pick up some words in every languages).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Maybe I can cook some delicious Crepes from Brittany if you're agree... But I cannot sing sorry.
