About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I try to do the most out of my time.

ABOUT ME

I´m Tom.I´m inquisitive in new stuff. So it´s intresting for me to meet people, who I wouldn´t meet in my daily life and I like to explore and travel. During travelling i want to see local life. You can learn a lot from different ojectives.
I´m active, so I like doing sport. I´m doing a kind of self defense tecnique, soccer and riding my bike in forest.

PHILOSOPHY

I like the way to say something clearly/ directly. It´s complicated to say something in a roundabout way.

I don´t waste food/energy. For me it´s a pity, if someone throw eatable food to a bin. I try to plan faithful with my food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I don´t know how it exactly works. It might be diffrent. I want to catch up the spirit of CS to get an idea of it. In general I like to meet people from differnet places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A man in San Francisco hosted me for some good days. I had the best food at his place during my few months in USA. I thanked him alot because he allowed me to stay in his mediation room.

Interests

I enjoy cooking with other people. You learn a lot about this person during sharing time in kitchen.

Technology, landscapes, hiking spots, viewing points...

I´m interested in the local people. What are people doing during their free time? How do they see things? What kind of festivals were organised? Which challenges do they have? What are the callenges?

I like street art. It´s a really nice way to make boring urban areas interesting. Unfortunaly, I had no chance to try it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love electronical music. Favorite DJs are: Markus Schulz, W&W, Sander van Doorn, Moguai, Paul Kalkbrenner and some more.

Also I hear some Reggae and Rock.

I enjoy reading books about true happenings/History. My favourite book which answered me a lot of questions is `Why the West Rules` from Ian Morris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on a safari tour in Serengeti National Park. I loved it because of the wild and nearly untouched nature. The landscape was endles.

In the summer of 2010 i did a bicycle tour from my hometown to Berlin. It take 8 days. A friend and me slept during this trip in our tents. It was a really nice trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like talking about social problems. Everywhere in the world they are diffrent because of diffrent surroundings and history.

I can give some practical ideas how to use renewable energy(produce a electrical wind turbine). Recycle energy from Biomass (Briquettes out of biological waste).

During vacation I was involved in little voulenteering projects, called workcamps. 10 to 15 People are coming from all over the world and from the region, where the project took place. They share some little rooms, cooking and working together. I really like the idea of that. Because everybody has a diffrent culture and behavoir, so it becomes a intresting mixture. It´s a unfamiliar and juicy situation to meet a whole group at the first day and then sharing 2 weeks working/cooking/discussion and a little room.

Jordan, Kenya, Tanzania, United States, Viet Nam
