About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover life and to be a Yes-Man everyday

ABOUT ME

I was born in the north of Germany in a tiny place called Husum (near a place called Busum-no joke) where there are loads of windmills. Then I moved to Spain for 3 years and I've been living in the UK ever since. I recently quit my job in rainy London working in the financial sector as a sales trader, and spent the first half of this year travelling North & South America.

Now onto the next adventure: New Zealand for a month and then move to Melbourne for a year with my beautiful girlfriend Nicki. Hopefully I'll find some fantastically rewarding job! We shall seeee..

I try to live in the moment and be a yes man as often as possible, it's easy to waste time and energy pondering to much about the future or the past- but very difficult to actually manage to be fully immersed in what you are doing at this very moment.

I don't take life all too seriously and am at the best of times incredibly sarcastic and like to joke around. I'd like to think I'm friendly and easy going. Something I would say I enjoy is, sharing a home cooked meal with some alcohol to get hilarious conversations going and having a good time.

Last one.. I'm strong believer in Renewable energy and all things that help reduce our impact on this beautiful planet, we've only got one unfortunately.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy and live in the moment. Do something you love. Live a life that you'd be proud to tell you're kids about, not just how much money you've made or things that you've acquired over the years. Life is definitely about learning and sharing what we've learnt, it doesn't stop at school or university. There're a lot of like minded people out there and hopefully I can meet a few of them through couch surfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently away from my beautiful historic home town of Bath, but when I'm back would be fully open to hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my couch surfing experience has been simply incredible, the people who I have met have been so generous and friendly (Especially Stan- who gave me his car for 2 months, enormous love to you!). I'm totally overwhelmed by the amazing times I've had. I've also had a lot of friends from all over the world stay with me and equally have visited them, and have always had a pretty unique and interesting time and shared something special.

Interests

I'm an incredibly outdoorsy person- I love hiking, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, paragliding and sailing. Photography, Driving, TESLA cars (Elon is a Industrialist Hero), flying, exploring new cities, finding cheap and delicious street food stall, going out. I definitely love stretching it makes you feel fantastic! Saying that, still one of my favourite things to do is to cook a huge meal with friends and to make it last 10 hours with copious amounts of wine and beer to keep everyone merry. I'm an absolute food maniac and hope to repay all couch hosting offers with a home cooked meal fiesta.

Music, Movies, and Books

I know everyone says it but, I like most types of music, except for generic commercial auto-tuned turd. But just to name a few names...
Music: Cyril Hahn, Jonas Rathsman, Bondax, Bonobo, Isaac Tichauer, Nicolas Jaar, Gilles Peterson, Lovebirds, Disclosure, Netsky, Fat Freddie's Drop, St. Germain, all kinds of House, D'n'B, Jazz. There's too much to list here... no heavy Rock or trance.
Books: Affluenza, The Selfish Capitalist, The Talented Mr Ripley, Liar's Poker.
Movies: Most recent good ones: Into Eternity, Inequality for all, Monuments Men, American Hustle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm pretty sure everyones seen some pretty cool things in their life time, but my most recent memories I'd definitely never forget are: climbing to 6088 meters in Bolivia and seeing the sun rise over La Paz. The fog clearing over Machu Picchu. Biking 70km down from 5km to 1km vertical height. Putting my foot down in a P85+ Tesla- ma gerd!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a real believer in the couch surfing philosophy, I definitely think we can all learn a lot from one another and have a great time whilst doing so. I would love to learn how to cook new meals, learn some new languages, understand different cultures and meet as many different new and interesting people as possible. Specifically though if someone could teach me: Ski diving, Yoga, Web + App design, French, Mountain Biking that would all go down a treat.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully a fantastic home cooked meal.
