ABOUT ME

This is a joint profile of Carmen and I (Thomson). We're a young couple, 23 and 24, that have a lot of practical experience to share. Our 7 year relationship have taught us effective communication and understanding of each other and we're ready to take ourselves out of our comfort zone. My traveling experience includes all of N.America that you can drive to. I have driven from Edmonton -> Toronto -> Orlando -> California back to Edmonton. I love road trips with friends because when you're stuck with the same 4 people in a smelly car for an extended periods of time, it miraculously becomes exciting. I've also traveled lots with the University with my participation in Business competitions and conferences.

Carmen just graduated from the Uni. of Alberta in Kinesiology, the study of human moment. As a gift to her hard work we're going to Europe for 3 months to expand her traveling experiences. She's been to a some exciting cities in Edmonton, and we both traveled to Mexico and Hong Kong.

While Carm is a year younger, she's more mature than I am, surprise surprise. CarThomenson is actually our names put together, it's obviously my creation, Carm would not have given this word a chance.

We're both entertainers and get along really well with people as long as we speak a common language. Sports are also a huge part of our lives, while I eat as a sport and would immediate run 8km afterwards; Carmen takes a more rational approach by playing in the women's soccer/football league at the premier level.

Our pet Cat's name is Smudge or Smudgy or smudgepants or pants or sometimes I call her panties.

PHILOSOPHY

I've always wanted to be an exceptional person who lead a unique life. In order to become this person, I trek on the trails less traveled and break way from what's deemed normal. The normal is usually easy and lame, new paths are challenging, exciting and allows me to learn more about myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out about CS about 20 minutes ago when my fraternity brother, who is now doing his PhD in Jena, Germany, mentioned it. I didn't even know CS existed, but I love the idea. Throughout my travels I've met many friends that often visit and would crash not just on our couch but in our spare bedroom. *ooohhh aaaahhhh*. Although Carmen and I are often busy, we try our best to accommodate our friends so if you're coming to Canada, let me know, crash at our place and I'll help you figure out where you'd want to go in Canada. Canada true is an amazing place and has a lot to offer in terms of nature and culture and my spare bedroom is always open.
