About Me
Incurable Optimist. Organized. Silly. Laughs a lot. I like to meet new people. I like to be alone sometimes. I like the bustle of cities. I like the quiet beauty of nature. When i am not working (deciphering the genomes of all kind of organism from human to common tern to islandic lichen) I cook, read, do sports, dance lindy hop, and discover new things and places. I am always up for playing boardgames, go to pub quizzes, trying craftbeers or simply hang out in a sunny spot. I studied and lived for a year at Leibniz Kolleg in Tübingen (that is, one of the nicest places in the world) with 50 amazing people... Then I studied at the University in Freiburg, and now i am working in Vienna. I'd say I'm spontaneous, but also a very organized person, so I appreciate reliability concerning keeping appointments, at least writing a message if your plans have changed etc.... Check out the couch description to make sure it suits you before you send a request please!
Important Info for Guests:
- Hosting solo female travellers or couples
- This is not booking on AirBnB. I don’t know if I am available months from now, can confirm requests max. 2-3 weeks in advance
- Working full-time, so I can't provide 24/7 entertainment.
- I start every weekday day pretty early and come home fairly late, so there will probably not be much time to show you around the city and no parties happening at my place, but i would still be happy to be your host for 1-2 nights, share a dinner or some nice craftbeer.
Just ask if you want to know anything, i'm looking forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard the stories from friends who had had great couch-surf trips or hosted people, so i decided to join almost 10 years ago. I met wonderful people via couchsurfing when I traveled to find out where I want to go to university, had nice surfers at my place in Freiburg and took part in the CS community events. Then my studies took over my life for a while, I lived in a tiny place and did not host anyone in forever, the CS website got a complete overhaul in the meantime (I basically missed it), but hey, I am back!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Ah, well too many bands, movies and books i like but I'll name a few: The Shins, Faded Paper Figures, John Butler Trio, Bright Eyes, The tallest man on earth, The travelling Band, Louis Barrabas and the Bedlam Six, 17 Hippies, Death Cab for Cutie, Friska Viljor, Mumford and Sons, Hello Saferide, Joy kills Sorrow, Wendy McNeill, The Postal Service, Fun., Noah and the Whale, Johnny Flynn, and almost every kind of classical music...
The movies "garden state", "darjeeling limited" "i heart huckabees" "Moonrise Kingdom" "Wall-e" "Volver" "Lord of the Rings" "Cashback" "The Princess Bride" and if it has zombies, aliens or superheroes in it it's probably not bad!
And a book i can read time and time again is "The unbearable lightness of beeing". So beautiful.
