About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a last-last-minute stay in SF, because all dorms are fully booked. I can pay 200 happy hugs but not 200 bucks for a hotel room...

ABOUT ME

I'm a 32 old guy who is very good at getting things undone and scraping my plate. OK, I´m also a last-minute guy who is sending a couch request in the evening for the same day and is also a bit late in life, that makes life not always easy but exciting.

Right now, I´m chasing the sun with my fiancée Cathy on a half world trip since middle of June to make fun, friends and to fill up our bellies with unhealthy food. We are a little chaotic but of course a lovely couple grown up in Germany but now living in Switzerland, that are making or changing our plans from one to another day. We love to have ugly hairstyles but in fact we are a conservative couple who sleeps long, eats up every time and are afraid to be as boring as everybody. But for everybody who give us home, we have also a small present: a postcard with a fancy colour and an original Swiss-German sentence. What else would someone need today?

PHILOSOPHY

I always didn't know what to write when asked, because there are so much good thoughts, but it's like good jokes - you forget them quite fast or they are not really punshing. But here is a line I just found in an old saved text doc from former times, I prefer even today: "A lot of people are clowns, but hardly nobody shows it".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined the community, when my girlfriend and me were searching for a flat in Switzerland to save lots of money (event the backpacking hostels have horrible prices) first and second making the first Swiss contacts and friends. As it took really long for finding our place, we needed a lot of host spontaneuos hosts and we were overwhelmed by the actions of the people who hosted us chaotic couple even last minute (so of course we are sympathize and care for all the other last-minute surfers too).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Because I suffer from a undefined kind of procrastination I didn´t fill up my profile since years, so all of our and my references are at the CS profile of my financee Cathy, pls search or check for Katharina Fechner, Basel (Switzerland). There are so many great experiences so far and I will tell here when more time (ahem.. procrastination) but let me tell my worst experience or rather my worst dream ever, because our host was smoking weed all the time in the room we slept: Standing as a drummer on a huge stage in front of a mob of Orcs, but - OMG - I forgot my drum set. After waking up I was in the perfect mood for killing myself because everything was useless.

Interests

I´m interested in travelling although i have aerophobia and suffering from other strange fears in life. I´m used to be a copywriter for advertising, but I quit my job for travelling with Cathy or doing some NGO work in Kenya.

Music, Movies, and Books

Last time I watched an Australian animation movie named "Max and Mary" and I can strongly recommend it.

I'm not such a fast reader (I don't know exactly in what thing I'm really fast after all) so it's a hard competition to read a book as a whole, but I love all these books of self helping. At last I read the autobiography of Richard Branson, what a fucking hell of a guy.
