Hi there, my name is Thorsten. I'm a medical student from the Netherlands with a passion for changing the world. Whenever I'm not studying I go to cafes, listen to jazz music or go to the best parties in town. And of course, I love travelling! I'm a big fan of exploring new cultures, indulging in different traditions and learning new languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When travelling, meeting people is what I love most. And Couchsurfing has allowed me to meet many people who are now some of my closest friends. Having a good chat over a cup of coffee is one of the things enjoy most. I especially love convos about societal issues such as minority rights, gender inequality and health care availability.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really have a favourite genre in music as I love everything from classical to pop. However, most of the time I have some smooth jazz music on. And since reading is a hobby of mine, I have too many favourite books to mention here. I'd recommend at least Factfulness by Hans Rosling, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy and White Nights by Dostojevksi.
