Hey, I am Thorvid from Germany. I'm currently graduating from high school and would like to see the world. I find it fascinating to get to know new cultures, new countries, new people. It was my dream as a child and I traveled a lot alone around the world in Europe in my youth, and once went alone to New York City for 3 weeks, which was the best time of my life so far. I'm looking forward to new adventures with Couchsurfing and I'm excited to see what new things it brings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love adventure and I think that the best way to get to know a country and a culture is through its locals. The reality and not the shadow that you are sold to as a tourist. You see it up close and can live it for a moment with the hosts and I find that fascinating and is something that no hotel in the world can offer me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honest. I don't like reading books. But I like films, but I don't really have a favorite film, just one favorite series: Grey's Anatomy. I find it incredible how the problems of the system are highlighted and pilloried in this series. The form of friendship and cohesion and Meredith's fight for constant survival in the medical industry. Incredibly inspiring and insightful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best experience I've had so far was the 3 weeks in New York City that showed me who I am. who I want to be. and how beautiful travel is above all and how the most spontaneous and unexpected acquaintances become lifelong friends and leave unforgettable impressions of strangers in your memory, simply because of their openness and willingness to help. It was 3 weeks full of adventure and personal development that I can and will never leave behind.

I like to learn, I'm happy when I can learn something about other cultures or world views, as well as when I can pass on my own and perhaps expand your horizons a bit in the exchange. There is give and take and this should always be an open exchange.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer you my openness and help. I like to help around the house or in other things to show my gratitude. But I am also a good conversationalist and always enjoy controversial discussions about world events.
