ABOUT ME

Hi, we're the Powells!

Arron is a self-employed Suzuki violin teacher, composer/arranger/orchestrator/transcriber, tenor, violist and daddy. Abby is a full-time mommy and part time horn player and teacher. Isaac is our sweet, toddling ball of energy. He was born in October 2011 and has made our lives a great deal of fun.

We are both active church musicians. In addition to our musical interests and activities, we are foodies. Our favorite thing to do together is cook. We've got adventurous palates and love trying new things. Some people would call us "crunchy." We are a breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby wearing, real-food, frugal, gentle discipline, (eventually) home-schooling family. We like doing things as naturally as possible. We live simply and well and would never trade the time we are blessed to spend together as a family for a more convenient life.

Abby: One of the most amazing things I've ever done is visiting Schönau am Königssee and sharing a place with three generations before me.

Arron: One of the most amazing things I've done is visit the Pacific Ocean and the Grand Canyon with my wife :).

We both have something to teach you about music. Abby can do calligraphy and some needlepoint, and Arron is a fount of random information who is quite decent at knitting.
