About Me

P.Eng. living in SF and working in Cupertino!

I studied in New York, USA and Melbourne, Australia. Now I'm a full time nerdy adult, but I'm always dreaming of strapping on my backpack and venturing to far away lands or escaping to the mountains.

I've traveled a LOT and had some pretty amazing experiences with many different kinds of people. I once rode a bicycle by myself all the way around the east coast of Australia to raise money for charity. I pretend to be a musician sometimes by playing guitar and singing (if I have enough beer). I fly planes and climb mountains in my spare time, as well as many sports (hockey, rugby, endurance-running, squash, etc.)

I am always open to meet new people and I am easily convinced to go on an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience with couchsurfing was when I was 18, my friends and I backpacked across Europe right after we finished high school. We didn't have much to give and people in several countries took us in and shared their lives with us. Every one, although very different, was fantastic, I've been a member ever since.

I've helped several surfers in Calgary and New York, and every traveler I meet has something to teach. I think it's an amazing way to connect with people and learn about the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've tried to lure the monster out of Loch Ness, eaten haggis, stood on the tee box of St. Andrews, and hiked the Highlands.
Eaten Pizza in Pisa.
I've scaled a Glacier.
Played hackie sack with complete strangers in front of the Moulin Rouge, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
I've stopped an NHL slap shot.
I've cycled across Australia.
I can fly an airplane.
Seen the Sun rise and set on Santorini in Greece.
Survived with nothing but a passport and 3 Euros in my pocket for a week.
Snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef.
Sailed through the Adriatic Sea.
Smoked cigars on a yacht in Panama.
Drank 20 y/o scotch from the barrel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to jam with anyone, my guitars are open.
I love to spend time in the mountains. From skiing to rock climbing, showing off the rockies never gets old.
I'm in the market to learn french if someone wants to help me.
